Hello! So, just wanted to give a brief rundown of my project for NaNoWriMo ’19! I will be posting some of my prep work, lines from what I write during November and a bunch of other fun things like that during NaNoWriMo HOWEVER, for now, I just wanted to share what I’m planning on and how you can be my buddy 😉
-Your Train Leaves At Eleven-
Synopsis: A blend between Dead Poet’s Society and The Great Gatsby.
A group of wealthy college students struggle to keep their friendship and sanity present as they deal with their own personal issues but try and fix each other’s problems at the same time. Your Train Leaves At Eleven examines how much a person can mean to another person and how easily their worth is forgotten.
Title: The title is actually pretty thought out for me, I rarely have meaning behind my titles. I tend to just chose whatever sounds cool to me. But today is different I guess. This book deals with a lot of psychological elements so the concept of the train is a play on words with the idea of, “train of thought.” Hence, your train leaving is your sanity leaving. I also chose the number 11 because its a number correlated with difficulty and uncertainty in mathematics. Which are two ideas dealt with most in this project.
Here’s What I Have So Far: (very impressive I know)
“I hate your mother more than I hate my mother, which is quite a bit,” James undoes the cuff links of his sleeves and drop them in a planter. Soon his tie is no longer around his neck but around his head. “Why do we even have to go to this party?”
“James, you literally dressed yourself. No one made you put on the tie, why are you changing your outfit?” Asia picks up the cuff links, they were diamond after all.
“Oh sweet, simple Asia. When will you learn, sometimes actions are done simply for the,” He pauses dramatically as he unbuttons his top two buttons and clears his throat, “theatrics of it all.”
