Newsies!~

Oh my gosh. So I went and saw Newsies today and wow. That’s really all I can say, wow. It was absolute perfection, or as close as you can get anyway. It was so good.

Let me paint you a picture. Think the movie, now think a billgillion times better. Think, better story line, better singing, better dancing, better score, better acting, better characters, better everything. Better musical.

I don’t think I can tell you how much I love this. Every time a song came on, I became giddy. Every time I breathed, chills ran down my spine. It was magical. I have no words.

Also, the set was super boss. Like, I had no idea metal structures could be moved around like that. It was perfect. I’ve been waiting forever to see this and now I’m madly in love. Like I’m not kidding. I know you all probably think I’m a dork because I love this so much but whatever. It’s just who I am.

The mainly male cast is also super cool because the dancing is a lot more different. It’s more athletic. That’s the only word I can think of. Lots of back flips and jumping around. King of New York was a tap number was so good. Every single song made me smile. One song almost brought me to tears, which is a big deal because nothing ever does that. So yea, it was good.

Anyway, if it’s coming near you, go see it. No matter the cost, go see it. I don’t care if you don’t like musicals, you should still see it. If it’s not near you, listen to the sound track because it’s perfect. I’m done ranting, sorry. This might be my new favorite and I’m listening non stop to the music and my family thinks I have problems. Which I probably do… Oh the perks of being a dork. X)

Have a good day and good job you read this whole thing. See you guys later! (If you’ve seen Newsies comment below, I will rant with you even more. 😉 )

I just saw Newsies a couple weeks ago. The dancing was mind-blowing. All of those flips, jumps, and everything else was hard to believe.

The cast is very different because it is so male-based. I especially loved Jack and Crutchie especially their relationship between each other. Crutchie truly brings the show heart. I have a growing love for the musical and am addicted to the songs and so ready to get the soundtrack. I especially loved “Seize the Day”, the best song from the musical. The best songs are any of the songs the Newsies sing.

    1. Luckily I had already had the sound track so on the way home me and my friend rocked out to it. All of the songs are so good and the dancing I could not believe. The guy who played Specs was absolutely amazing. I have to say, I’m in love with Jack much more than I was when I watched the movie. I feel like all the characters were deeper and had more development.

I have never seen the movie. I only have heard like four or three of the songs through Pandora. It was “Seize the Day” that was the most memorable to me at the time.

But when I saw the stage version, all of the songs that I already heard were so much better. It makes a big difference when the songs are finally put to into context. For now I listen to the songs through ITunes. All of the songs are incredible and this storyline that actually happened. Still hard to believe that a group of underdogs stood up to two of the most powerful publishers of the time

      2. Right? It’s probably my favorite historical thing of all time. It’s really nice when everything is in context, things suddenly make sense. I think my favorite song is either Once and for All or maybe Brooklyns here. Not sure.

The best songs are the ones that the Newsies sing not just limited to group numbers. They include Santa Fe and Something to Believe In because Jack is a Newsie

meant to say I listen to the songs through YouTube, not ITunes. Too bad I didn’t find that before posting the comment
